Washington Stealth Re-Signs Sorensen, Temporarily Releases Sedgwick

Everett, Wash. - One day prior to the Washington Stealth meeting the Toronto Rock in a rematch of the last two National Lacrosse League Championship Games, the Stealth has announced that assistant captain Kyle Sorensen has been re-signed and will be back in the lineup this weekend.

Sorensen has missed the last three games due to an injury sustained on February 4 against the Buffalo Bandits. The defenseman was temporarily released last week to allow the Stealth make roster moves as the team deals with a rash of injuries. The Stealth Assistant Captain is the anchor of the defensive unit and has two assists and ten loose balls in four games this season.

To make room for Sorensen on the roster, the Stealth has temporarily released Assistant Captain Cam Sedgwick, who is unavailable to play this weekend. Sedgwick will be re-signed to the roster next week.

"We are in a tough spot with the number of injuries we have right now," said Sedgwick, who has been a staple in the Stealth lineup since 2005. "Everyone needs to step, so if I'm not able to be on the floor, this is the best way for me to contribute. I'll be ready to get back on the floor with the boys next week and build some momentum for the second half of the season."

The Stealth is in Toronto this weekend to take on the Rock at the Air Canada Centre. The team returns home the following week, when they host the Colorado Mammoth at the Comcast Arena on March 11.
