Washington Stealth News Release
Everett, Wash. - The Washington Stealth announced today that defenseman Kyle Sorensen has been activated from the physically unable to perform list, making its assistant captain available for the March 25 game versus the Boston Blazers. Sorensen suffered a knee injury over the summer playing with the Peterborough Lakers of Major Series Lacrosse.
Sorensen, a 6'2", 220-pounder from Peterborough, Ontario, is in his fifth NLL season after being selected second overall by the Stealth in the 2006 NLL Entry Draft. Prior to this season, Sorensen has played in all but six games in his career.
"Having Kyle back for the stretch run is a huge boost for us," said Stealth General Manager Doug Locker. "Not only is he a tremendous player, but Kyle is also an outstanding leader. We are very excited to have him back on the active roster."
Sorensen was instrumental in the Stealth's championship run a year ago, anchoring the NLL's top penalty kill unit. In eleven regular season games, he tallied two goals and six assists for eight points and added 45 loose balls. In 58 career games, Sorensen has recorded 18 goals and 25 assists for 43 points and 277 loose balls.
Sorensen will be available for the Stealth's next game on Friday, March 25 against the Boston Blazers at the Comcast Arena at Everett. Tickets for the game start at just $13 and are available by calling 877-MY-75-TIX or at www.stealthlax.com.
