Vancouver Warriors News Release
VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Warriors are pleased to announce the signing of defender and faceoff specialist Mitchell Gustavsen.
Gustavsen, 24, from Scarborough, Ontario, is 5'11", 205 pound and a right shot defender. Gustavsen has played this past season with the Oshawa Outlaws of the ALL East and has also been with Rochester and Toronto of the NLL in his career.
"Mitch is a faceoff specialist who can play defence and we look forward to seeing if he can step right in to our lineup," comments Warriors General Manager Dan Richardson. "Our eastern scout liked what he saw from Mitch, and let us know that he is a gritty player who plays with an edge."
Gustavsen will join the team in Calgary tonight as the Warriors prepare to face the Roughnecks tomorrow night at the Scotiabank Saddledome. You can see that game on TSN beginning at 6 PM PDT.
In a related move, defender and faceoff specialist Tyrell Hamer-Jackson has been placed on the Warriors long term injured list with a lower body injury. Hamer-Jackson is expected to make a full recovery and should be back in time for Warriors training camp in late October, early November.
