CORNWALL ISLAND - The Akwesasne Warriors made it look easy on Thursday night at A'nowara'ko:Wa Arena, skating past the visiting Rome Frenzy 8-2 in a Federal Hockey League game.
The Warriors got three goals and two assists from former Ottawa 67's sniper Dan Tessier during the contest, one that allowed Akwesasne to stretch its first-place lead over Thousand Islands to four points.
The 23-8 Warriors have 46 points, while Thousand Islands is at 42.
Ahmed Mahfouz had a two-goals, two-assists performance for the Warriors, in a game played in front of an announced crowd of 435.
Ahead 3-2 after one period, the Warriors scored three unanswered goals in the middle session to go in front 6-2.
Darick Ste. Marie, Luc Mazerolle and Kyle Lagace each scored once, and Miguel Delisle had four assists.
The Warriors are on the road this weekend, playing in Danbury on Saturday night and at New York City on Sunday evening.
