Warriors Complete Comeback in 3rd Period

Akwesasne Warriors' forward Dan Tessier lead the way with 2 goals and 1 assist to take 2 games to one lead in the North Division Final, defeating the 1000 Islands Privateers 5-4 at the Anowarakowa Arena. A disappointing 371 fans came out to cheer on the Warriors.

The first period featured good pace and back-and-forth action. Both the Privateers and Warriors exchanged first period goals. Akwesasne opened the scoring just 37 seconds into the second period Dan Tessier tallied his first of the night with assists going to Ahmed Mahfouz and Miguel Delisle. Ryan Pearson and Adam McAllister both scored for the Privateers before the end of the second to put them up 3-2 going into third period. Tyler Fernandez put the Privateers up 4-2 at the 4:21 mark of the third period. Ahmed Mahfouz set up Miguel Delisle on the powerplay to cut the lead down to 4-3. Dan Tessier stole the puck from Marcus Pryde to tie the game up just one minute after Delisle cut the Privateers lead. In dramatic fashion Martin Beaulne took the puck end to end through all the Privateers and scored the game winning goal with three minutes left in the game. The Privateers outshot the Warriors 39-35.. Akwesasne's win puts them in the lead of Northen Division final 2-1.

The Privateers will host Game 4 Friday March 4th at 7:00 PM. If necessary, Game 5 will be Saturday, March 5th at 7:30 PM in Akwesasne.
