NEWARK, DE. - The Santa Cruz Warriors fell to the Delaware 87ers 109-86 on Tuesday night at Bob Carpenter Center.
James Michael McAdoo paced the Warriors with a double-double, recording a game-high 28 points and 18 rebounds. Sean Kilpatrick notched 19 points, while Aaron Craft and Ognjen Kuzmic tallied 15 and 11 points, respectively.
Delaware received double-figure performances from six different players, led by Victor Rudd who had 18 points and 7 rebounds. Jamal Jones and Malcom Lee scored 15 apiece in the win over Santa Cruz.
After trailing the 87ers for the first three quarters, an Aaron Craft bucket put the Warriors up by 1 point with 7:20 remaining in the fourth quarter. A Drew Gordon hook shot would cue a Delaware lead that would endure for the remainder of the game.
Though the teams' shooting percentages were almost identical, with Delaware holding the slight edge (43%-42%), Santa Cruz was outrebounded (49-43) and had fewer assists (21-17). Santa Cruz had more steals (14-10), had more blocked shots (6-4), and committed fewer turnovers (18-22).
The Warriors will return home to Santa Cruz for the 2015 NBA D-League Showcase and face the Canton Charge on Thursday, January 15th at 7:00 p.m. PST. Fans can catch the action on NBA TV.
