Warbirds staying put
June 14, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Dayton Bulldogs News Release
The Dayton Warbirds of the National Indoor Football League have every intention of staying in the Ohio city they have made their home for the 2005 season. The Warbirds have a 3-year lease with the E.J. Nutter Center and will honor that commitment, as well as honor the pledge to build a first-class, competitive team that the fans will enjoy.
The Warbirds organization also will make refunds to those season ticket holders, who turned in their ducats by the said deadline, when the season is completed. We regret this inconvenience, but want our fans to know we will abide by this decision, despite the fact that money secured from the sale of these tickets, in the amount of $63,000 by previous ownership, Jeff Jodway and Mark Timmons, was taken for a variety of reasons.
The Warbirds organization has previously taken on many of the debts by the previous ownership. In many cases, it was not the obligation of the NIFL team to address these past debts, but we have felt it necessary to take care of the many fans who deserve better treatment.
Thank you for being patient and understanding in this time of transition. We definitely will fulfill our obligations to the past fans, the current fans and the future fans, which we hope will join with us in one of the most exciting professional sports in America - Indoor Football.
