Warbirds announce GM/Head Coach

Dayton, OH--The Dayton Warbirds announced today that Chris MacKeown would be the first Head Coach and General Manager of the new NIFL franchise. Mr. MacKeown will have all decision-making authority as it relates to football operations, as well as have vital input in the daily operations of the franchise.

Mr. MacKeown comes to Dayton from Louisville of the AF2 (Arena Football 2), where he served as Offensive Coordinator and Director of Player Personnel. Under Chris' guidance, the Louisville Fire led the AF2 in total offense and led the Fire to their first ever-winning record, first playoff appearance and first playoff victory.

Mr. MacKeown has extensive knowledge of the indoor game as he has held various coaching positions within AF2 and AFL (Arena Football League). He was also the Head Coach for the Cincinnati Swarm and the Dayton Skyhawks. He also was an assistant with the Indiana Firebirds (AFL) when they made it to the Arena X Semi-Finals. Chris has also coached locally with Wayne High School and Fairmont High School.

Chris was born in St. Louis, MO and competed in multiple sports including football, basketball and baseball. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at the University of Toledo and a Master's of Science in Education and Allied Professions at the University of Dayton. MacKeown currently resides in Dayton with his lovely wife, adorable little girls, big dog and surly cat.
