December 12, 2013 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Rochester Knighthawks News Release
Rochester native and Knighthawks forward Joe Walters will take the team's anti-bullying message to The Aquinas Institute on Friday, December 13th. Walters will speak to nearly 400 kids in grades 7, 8, and 9 about recognizing the signs of bullying and how to handle various bullying situations.
The anti-bullying presentation, brought to you by Isaac Heating and Air Conditioning, is slated to begin at 1:45 p.m. at The Aquinas Institute located at 1127 Dewey Avenue. Walters will share his personal story of bullying and will present the students with the Knighthawks' "We Got Your Back" anti-bullying message during the presentation.
The "We Got Your Back" program was created by Ann Marie Leonardi of Hurricanes Lacrosse and the Knighthawks adopted it at the beginning of their 2012 season. The Aquinas students will show their commitment to the "We Got Your Back" program by signing a banner at the conclusion of Walters' presentation.
The event is the seventh of the season for the Knighthawks, who have visited over 5,000 kids since the program started in October 2012. If you would like to learn more about the Knighthawks anti-bullying program, go to http://www.knighthawks.com/antibullying.
