Wagar a Winner

EDMONTON, AB- The Rush's 3rd round, 28th pick in the 2006 NLL Entry Draft Kurtis Wagar along with teammates from the Brock Badgers men's lacrosse team were crowned Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association National Champions Sunday afternoon as they held on to defeat the first place Bishop's Gaiters 11-8. This was the Badgers third straight national championship since CUFLA's inception and fifth straight Baggataway Cup.

The Brock senior netminder Kurtis Wagar came up with two big saves finishing with 10 saves for the victory. Wagar ends this university career with a remarkable 33-2 league record and a perfect 10-0 playoff record.

Wagar will debut his NLL career with the Rush at training camp this weekend set for Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12 at Servus Credit Union Place. Wagar will face strong competition this weekend at camp while battling for a position as the Rush's back-up netminder for the 2007 NLL Season.

The Rush training camp for the 2007 NLL Season opens this weekend, Saturday, November 11 and Sunday, November 12 at Servus Credit Union Place located at 400 Campbell Road in St. Albert. Media access to training camp is between 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Coaches and players will be available for interviews at this time. Training camp is open to the public on Saturday, November 11 from 1pm-3pm and 8pm-10pm and Sunday, November 12 from 8am-10am.

Miss Edmonton Rush also a Winner

Renee Prusak, the winner of the Miss Edmonton Rush contest last year was awarded a two -page photo spread in FHM Magazine. The photo spread hits the stands in tomorrow's edition of the popular North American magazine. The Red Deer native competed against over 133 contests to win the title of Miss Edmonton Rush.
