Wachusett Dirt Dawgs Sign Beal, Lamboy, and Marshall for 2013

LEOMINSTER, Mass. (Friday, March, 29, 2013) The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs are excited to announce the signings of Division I Northeast Conference players Ryan Beal, Brian Lamboy and Michael Marshall for the 2013 season.

The additions of Ryan, Brian, and Michael are tremendous for the Dirt Dawgs organization this summer, said Scott Lettre, Director of Baseball Operations, We believe they will all help win some games down at Doyle Field this summer.

Beal, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound sophomore catcher from Goffstown, NH, joins the team from Central Connecticut State University, located in New Britain, CT.

In his first year at CCSU, he is currently hitting .250 with a home run and 4 RBIs to help his team to a 4-0 conference record, 9-7 overall.

In his one year at Ohlone College, located in Fremont, CA, he helped his team win a Conference Championship.

Beal is excited about joining the Dirt Dawgs this summer.

I am excited to be a part of the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs baseball program for the summer of 2013, said Beal, I am looking forward to playing with a great group of guys and winning some games this summer.

Lamboy, a 5-foot-9, 170-pound freshman infielder from Manalapan, NJ, joins the team from Sacred Heart University, located in Fairfield, CT.

He is currently hitting .209 so far this season for the Pioneers. In high school, he was named Captain during his senior year while helping his team become the Group IV Champions.

Lamboy is looking forward to the summer and can't wait to improve his skills this summer at Doyle Field.

I am looking forward to a successful season and getting to know my teammates, said Lamboy, I hope to become a better baseball player.

Marshall, a 5-foot-11, 175-pound freshman pitcher from Maynard, MA, joins the team from Bryant University, located in Smithfield, RI.

Prior to attending Bryant, Marshall was a four year Varsity All-Star at Maynard High School, where he helped his team to a League Championship in his sophomore season. He also was named league MVP each of the last three seasons.

Marshall is from the same team that 2012 Dirt Dawgs All-Star, Bryan Menduke, played on.

We are looking forward to seeing Michael pitch for us this summer, said John Morrison, Wachusett Dirt Dawgs Owner, There is nothing better than to see some local talent from only a half hour away, play at Doyle Field for the season.

The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs open their season at home on June 6th at 6:35 p.m.

The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs play at historic, and newly renovated, Doyle Field in Leominster, MA and are a 2012 expansion franchise in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.
