The MISL All-Star celebration will make its return. The MISL All-Star Weekend, staged in three of the League's first four seasons, has developed into one of the League's signature events. As the League has evolved, the MISL All-Star Weekend has defined itself as a special celebration of indoor soccer's extraordinary heritage and provides a vehicle for the League to salute the sport's stars of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. This commemoration is highly anticipated by MISL fans across the country.
With the enthusiastic support from the city of Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Wave have been awarded the hosting rights for the 2006 MISL All-Star Game to be held on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at U.S. Cellular Arena. For the first time in the League's five-year history, the League's signature mid-season event will feature a collection of MISL All-Stars competing against the Mexican Federation's National Futbol Rapido team.
Online voting for the 2006 MISL All-Star Game began on Sunday, January 22 at the League's official website, www.MISL.net. All soccer fans are encouraged to get in on the action as online voting for the MISL's starting line-up kicks into full swing for the next two weeks. Online voting at www.MISL.net for the MISL's "Starting Six" will continue through Sunday, February 5, 2006, at 11:59 p.m. (EST).
The MISL's "Starting Six" will be revealed at the Fiesta Garibaldi Commissioner's All-Star Dinner on Friday, February 10, when Cousins Subs 2006 MISL All-Star Weekend, presented by Time Warner Cable, kicks off in Milwaukee, the home of the defending Major Indoor Soccer League Champion Milwaukee Wave.
