January 29, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
New Orleans VooDoo News Release
Due to the severe weather conditions affecting Atlanta and its surrounding areas, the New Orleans VooDoo's opening contest against the Georgia Force scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m. at Phillips Arena has been postponed and been rescheduled to be played on Sunday, January 30th with kickoff at 2 p.m.
The game can be heard on WWL Radio 870 AM starting with a half-hour pregame show at 1:30 p.m. The game can be seen on a tape delay basis on Cox Sports Television at 7 p.m.
"In looking at the weather situation that has transpired over the last 24 hours plus with advice from both the Arena Football League and Phillips Arena, we felt it was in the best interest and safety of our fans, players, coaches and staff, that we postponed the game until tomorrow afternoon," explained Force President Dick Sullivan. "The weather forecast for Sunday is expected to be greatly improved and we look forward to kicking off our season in high gear."
"Due to the unfortunate weather conditions, we were more than willing to assist the Georgia Force in their first game under new ownership," said VooDoo Executive Director Mike Feder.
New Orleans VooDoo season tickets are now available for the 2005 campaign starting as low as $96 for the entire season. For additional information, please call (504) 731-1700.
