NEW ORLEANS (September 29, 2011) - The New Orleans VooDoo assigned defensive back Jerron Wishom, announced the team on Thursday evening.

Wishom (6'1" 205 lbs., Louisiana Tech) played for the VooDoo last season, appearing in eight games with the team before being traded to the Dallas Vigilantes. Wishom finished last season with 23.5 total tackles (20 solo), 0.5 tackles for a loss, two interceptions, a forced fumble and seven pass breakups.

"I'm excited to have Jerron on the team. I have a history with him, and always felt that he is a winner and can be successful in this league. His combined NFL and AFL experience, coupled with him being from the local area make him a good fit for the VooDoo," said Head Coach Pat O'Hara.

The Lutcher, La. native has seven years of professional football experience that includes time spent with the Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings, and Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. Wishom has also played in the CFL, UFL, AFL, and af2.

Wishom played college football at Louisiana Tech and prepped at Lutcher High School (Lutcher, La.).
