New Orleans VooDoo News Release
NEW ORLEANS (November 20, 2013) - The New Orleans VooDoo have been assigned kicker Josh Jasper, announced VooDoo front office Wednesday morning.
Jasper (5-11, 171, LSU) made the most of his opportunities at Louisiana State University as he finished his LSU career as the school's most accurate kicker and the second most accurate in SEC history. This two-time captain and former All-American kicker converted 47 of 56 kicks at LSU with a long of 52 yards. After garnering All-American honors as a senior in 2010 when he led the nation with 28 field goals, Jasper went undrafted.
This LSU product began his career at Ridgeway High School in Tennessee. There, he was a four-year letterwinner in both football and soccer and rated as the 12th-best kicker in the nation as a senior. He was named Mr. Football in 5A twice and finished his prep career with a Tennessee state record 44 field goals.
