Birmingham Barons News Release

During the 2013 season, VisionFirst Eye Center has donated $100 for every Barons homerun at Regions Field. The Barons have scored 47 homeruns. The three charities that benefited from the promotion are Better Basics, Camp Smile-a-Mile and Lakeshore Foundation. VisionFirst Eye Center is proud to donate $6,000 to the three charities during the 3rd inning at the play-off game on Thursday, September 5th.

In addition to the VisionFirst promotion, fans still have a chance to win $50,000. A VisionFirst eyeball target is on display on the scoreboard. If a Barons player hits a homerun that lands in the VisionFirst eye ball target, one lucky fan will take home the grand prize. All season, fans have submitted entries at Regions Field with an opportunity to donate to the three charities as part of the VisionFirst promotion.

Dr. Mark Bearman, ophthalmologist at VisionFirst says "Weʼre proud to be the official eye care provider for the Birmingham Barons. We have enjoyed spreading the word and giving support to these outstanding charities. We feel the partnership with the Barons is a great way to share with the Birmingham community. Itʼs been exciting to see fans of the ballpark be drawn to the VisionFirst Home Run Porch." The VisionFirst Home Run Porch not only allows fans to enjoy a Barons game up close but also provides close access to all of the family attractions in left field.

VisionFirst Eye Center offers an array of medical surgical and optical services with three convenient locations in Homewood, Trussville, and Alabaster.
