
Vipers announce special addition to open house

ROANOKE, VA - The Roanoke Valley Vipers, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), announced today that special guest Daniel Berthiaume will appear at their first annual Open House event on Saturday August 6th.
The former NHL and Roanoke Express goaltender, who fans affectionately know as "Bert", will be part of a meet-and-greet at the team's inaugural Open House. Fans will have the opportunity to get autographs and take pictures, and Vipers merchandise will be on sale for the first time ever.
"The Vipers realize what an important role Daniel has played in the tradition of hockey in the Valley," said Vipers Co-owner and Governor Kristen Dixon. "We look forward to his involvement with our organization in some capacity during the coming season."
Along with the presence of Berthiaume, the Open House will feature live music as well as games and prizes for kids. The Roanoke City Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit will also be on hand from 1p.m.-3p.m. to distribute child fingerprinting kits. Merchandise and concessions will be available for purchase, but admission to the event is free. Fans will also have the opportunity to select their seats in person and purchase full- and partial-season tickets for the Vipers inaugural season in the Roanoke Valley.
