Muskegon Lumberjacks News Release
Muskegon, Mich. - Muskegon Lumberjacks goaltender Joel Vienneau and team captain John Parker will make their debut tonight on the team's weekly radio show, "Breaking Out the Lumberjacks."
The radio show takes place at Racquets Downtown Grill, 446 West Western Ave., from 6-7 p.m. every Monday.
The Jacks picked up three of a possible six points during a three-game road trip and played three games in a week for the first time this season. After sitting in eighth place in the Eastern Conference just 10 days ago, Muskegon (5-5-3, 13 points) is tied for third place with Waterloo.
Vienneau stopped 29 of 32 shots to pick up the win in a 5-3 decision against Chicago on Tuesday night. Parker scored his first goal of the season to tie up Friday night's game in Des Moines against the Buccaneers at 3-3 early in the third. But the Bucs managed to edge the Jacks 5-4 in overtime.
Muskegon wrapped up the road swing with a 4-1 loss in Dubuque on Saturday and now turns its attention to its longest homestand of the season. The Jacks kick off five straight home games Wednesday morning against the Omaha Lancers. There will be a special 10:30 a.m. puck drop, as it will be Education Day at the L.C. Walker Arena. Teachers and their students can purchase discounted tickets by calling (231) 726-3879.
The Monday night radio show airs on 97.5 FM The Champ. Each week's show is re-broadcast from 9-10 a.m. the following Saturday morning. As always, the show will be hosted by the voice of the Jacks, Christopher Heimerman, and this week the Jacks' assistant coach Dave Noel-Bernier will step in for head coach Kevin Patrick. There will be giveaways and the floor will be opened for fans to ask questions of all the guests.
There will be a drawing on Monday, Nov. 22 for a free round trip on the S.S. Badger for two adults and two children. Fans can fill out an enter-to-win form at each radio show leading up.
