Richmond, VA: Vidswap.com and the Indoor Football League have partnered to announce the IFL Players of the Week. Fans will be able to click on the link and view video highlights of each honoree's on field accomplishments. Game changing performances by this week's winners highlighted an intense slate of match-ups.

WEEK SIX OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK -QB MIKE FITZGERALD / MARYLAND MANIACS

Everything seemed to click together for the Maniacs offense in their 52-33 victory against Alaska. Quarterback Mike Fitzgerald finished the contest completing 12 of 23 passes for 202 yards and four touchdowns. He was also a threat with his legs, rushing for 15 yards on 4 carries which included another touchdown and a two point conversion. Fitzgerald seemed to find his receivers deep all game, with touchdown strikes of 33 and 41 yards. The win gave the Maniacs their first winning streak in franchise history, and they look to extend it this week in Muskegon.

WEEK SIX DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - DB JOEY LONGORIA / ABILENE RUFF RIDERS

Big time player make big time plays and that is exactly what Abilene defensive back Joey Longoria did in their win against Corpus Christi. Down by ten points in the 4th quarter, with the Hammerheads on the Ruff Riders five yard line, Longoria intercepted a pass and returned it 45 yards for a score. They play altered the course of the game, and Abilene was able to come back and take the contest by a 33-27 score. He finished the night with two INT's for 80 return yards and a touchdown, two pass breakups, and two solo tackles.

WEEK SIX SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK- KR DEMARCUS JAMES/ ALASKA WILD

The choice for this week's Special Teams Award winner was a no-brainer. James was virtually the entire offense for Alaska in a road loss to the Maryland Maniacs. The DB/KR had five kickoff returns for 156 yards and two touchdowns. That's an average of 31 yards per return, on only a 50 yards field. James elusiveness on his returns opened the eyes of many coaches who will now have to game plan against the Wild Special Teams Unit.

The season resumes Friday night, April 24, with Maryland travelling to Muskegon and Odessa invading Omaha for what kick starts an exciting weekend of intense IFL match-ups. Game time for both is 7:00pm. Follow all the action at www.goifl.com and on the B2 broadcasts www.b2livetv.com of each game all season long.
