Victoria Seals Gearing Up For Great Canadian Food Fight

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Seals are proud to support the Great Canadian Food Fight (Victoria vs. Regina), taking place at various locations throughout the Capital Region this Friday and Saturday!
The Mustard Seed Food Bank is currently assisting 7,200 people in Greater Victoria and needs help to re-stock the warehouse. So the competition is on - the City of Victoria against the City of Regina, who will collect the most non-perishable food items?
Seals players Graham Campbell and Matt Kavanaugh will join President Darren Parker, Assistant General Manager Roxann Bury, and of course Seamore the Seal at the Dodd's Furniture location (715 Finlayson) from 12:30-2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16.
Along with the team, Greg Cracknell, Dan Therrien and Steve Pearce from Teamworks Victoria will be collecting donations. Everyone who contributes when the team is on site will be entered to win a Victoria Seals and Teamworks prize pack, which includes club merchandise and tickets to a 2010 game!
Team President Darren Parker says this is a great opportunity for Seals fans to support the community. "This is the toughest time of year for the Mustard Seed, which makes this event all the more important." Parker adds, "There's a little extra competition in it for me, because my brother, Brent, is the General Manager of the Regina Pats hockey team and I know he will be doing his best to support Regina's bid!"
Drop off your non-perishable food and financial donations at the Ogden Point Warehouse at Pier A, or in Mustard Seed bins at local grocery stores across the region from 6:00 a.m. Friday until 6:00 p.m. Saturday. Participating locations also include several fire halls across the city:
