Veteran af2 quarterback Chris Windsor assigned to Wardogs

Columbus, GA - The Columbus Wardogs have added veteran arenafootball2 quarterback Chris Windsor to their training camp roster. Windsor (6'3, 205) has passed for 8,377 yards and 162 touchdowns in his four seasons in the league. The former Southern Miss standout has also rushed for another 32 career touchdowns.

Windsor was the starting quarterback for Birmingham in the first-ever af2 game on March 31, 2000. He started every game for the Steeldogs in their first two seasons, leading Birmingham to a 12-4 record and the playoffs in 2002. After playing in Tallahassee in 2003, Windsor returned to the Steeldogs last year as a quarterback and receiver. He remains as Birmingham's career leader in passing attempts, completions, passing yards and touchdowns.

Windsor has thrown for 8 touchdowns in a game three times in his career. In addition to a strong arm, Windsor is a dangerous scrambler. He led the league in rushing attempts his rookie season (73) and shares the league record for most rushing attempts in a game (17).

Windsor is the first quarterback added to the Wardogs 2004 training camp roster. The Wardogs begin training camp on March 17 and play Australia in an exhibition game on Sunday, March 28. Columbus will open the 2004 regular season on April 10 at Wilkes-Barre, PA.
