Manchester Wolves News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. (February 14, 2004) - The Manchester Wolves, New England's newest professional football team, will be holding the final audition for their dance team next Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua. The event will begin at 1 p.m. at the mall's center court area.
The thirty finalists who made it through the Wolves' first dance tryout on Jan. 26 will be on hand to show off their skills in front of a large, live audience. The girls will also be trying to impress the panel of celebrity judges expected to be on hand, which includes Charlie Sherman (Sports Director - WMUR News 9), John Clayton (Columnist - The Union Leader), Jodi Reese (Publisher - Hippo Press), Tom King (Sportswriter - Nashua Telegraph), Mike DiBlasi (Sports Director - WNDS TV 50) and "Blitz," the Wolves official mascot.
Members of the team's front office staff will also have season ticket information available at the event and will be there to answer any questions fans may have. A host of Wolves players and coaches will be in attendance as well.
"This should be an exciting event," said Wolves General Manager Angelo Mazzella. "I'm sure the girls will all be nervous, but it will be a good opportunity for them to perform in front of a large group of people. I think they'll handle themselves well and give the crowd a great show."
The tryout will be conducted by Wolves dance team choreographer and area native Heidi Sullivan-Laroche. Laroche is the owner of Dance Visions Network in Manchester and a former New England Patriots cheerleader. Patty Vilela, another former Patriots cheerleader, will also assist at the audition. Vilela is the Wolves dance team coordinator.
"I'm really looking forward to next weekend," Sullivan-Laroche said. "I'm anxious to see how the girls react in a live situation. This is great practice for them for their first game at the Verizon, which is only seven weeks away."
Don't miss the Wolves first season of hard-hitting action in New Hampshire. Season ticket packages for the Wolves are available for dream, lower bowl and upper bowl seats and start as low as $112.
The Wolves kick off their inaugural season in New Hampshire on Saturday, April 10 against the Quad City Steamwheelers at the Verizon Wireless Arena. That night will truly be historic as the Manchester Wolves host the first arena football game ever played at the Verizon Wireless Arena. All eight Wolves home games start at 7:30 PM.
