Barre, Vt.-Forward Issa Konare scored a four-point play on a 3-D layup and a free throw to break a 95-95 tie in the final minute and power the Vermont Frost Heaves to a 106-97 defeat of the Atlanta Vision at the Barre Auditorium on Wednesday night.
Konare, who wound up with 29 points and 18 rebounds, will be one of two Vermont representatives on the East team in Saturday's ABA All-Star Classic, presented by VSECU and set for Saturday at 1:05 p.m. at the Aud.
The other Frost Heaves All-Star, Antonio Burks, tossed in 19 points, while B.J. Robertson scored 12 and Brett Gravitt added 11.
The Frost Heaves, No. 1 in the ABA Power Rankings, finished their regular season on March 8 with a 32-4 record. Since then they have played two pre-playoffs tune-ups with the Vision, winning 85-71 in Atlanta on March 11 before capturing the return game in Barre.
After All-Star Weekend-it begins with Hot Shots and Dunks presented by M&M Beverage Centers and Simply Subs and Pizza on Friday night at 7-Vermont makes its way to Quebec City for the ABA Final 8 Championship. The Frost Heaves will face the San Francisco Rumble in a quarterfinal game on Thursday, March 27, at 5 p.m. at the Pavillon de la Jeunesse.

Fans may eat, mix and mingle with the All-Stars on Saturday morning at the All-Star Community Breakfast presented by DMS Machining and Fabrication and benefiting Spaulding High School's Project Graduation. There will be two seatings, at 9 and 10 a.m., at American Legion Post 10 on North Main Street in Barre. Tickets for the breakfast cost $5 per person and will be on sale Friday night at the Cowbell Club table downstairs at the Barre Aud. In addition, Friday's All-Star team practices at the Aud-from 1 to 4:30 p.m.-are free and open to the public.
