
Verge named QMJHL's Defensive Player of the Week

St. John's Fog Devils goaltender, Brandon Verge, was named the QMJHL's Defensive Player of the Week for the period ending, Sunday, January 22nd. This is the 2nd time Verge has won this award this season.
Last week, Verge started both games for the Fog Devils and posted a 2-0-0 record, a 2.00GAA and a .944 save percentage. His weekly highlight was a 35 save, 2nd star performance in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
For the season Verge has appeared in 21 games and has a 6-11-0 record, a 4.05GAA and a .892 save percentage.
This is the third time a Fog Devil has been named the QMJHL Defensive Player of the Week. Verge captured this honor for the week ending September 24th and goaltender, Ilia Ejov, won this award for the week ending December 4th.
The Fog Devils take to the road this week with its next game against the Lewistion MAINEiacs on Wednesday. The next home series is Friday, February 3rd and Saturday, February 4th when the club hosts the Acadie-Bathurst Titans. Tickets for this series are available at the Mile One Stadium Box Office. The St. John's Fog Devils are the newest member of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and are one of 58 member clubs of the Canadian Hockey League.
