JAMESTOWN, N.Y. - Adam Veres threw seven innings of two-run ball and the Jammers bats recorded 14 hits in Jamestown's 11-3 victory over the State College Spikes.

The Jammers, who had scored a total of 13 runs combined in their previous five games, scored three runs in the first inning and three in the second. Noah Perio doubled in a run in the first and Marcell Ozuna followed with a two-run home run to make it 3-0.

In the second, the Jammers made it 4-0 on an error by the Spikes. Perio followed with an RBI double and Ozuna drove him in with a double to make it 6-0. Perio finished 4-for-5 on the night, and Ozuna went 2-for-3.

That was all the support Veres and reliever Zach Robertson needed. Veres kept the Spikes hitless until a two-out triple in the fourth and kept them scoreless until two runs scored in the sixth. The right-hander allowed three hits, didn't walk any batters and struck out three. Robertson threw two innings in relief and allowed one run.

The Jammers and Spikes will conclude their two-game series on Tuesday, August 3rd at 7:05 pm. The game can be heard live on JamestownJammers.com.
