
Venom Nominated for 10 IFL Year End Awards

Amarillo, TX 6/22/10 - A new league, new name, new coach and what do we get, 10 nominations for the IFL Year End Awards.
Your Amarillo Venom have been nominated for Franchise of the Year, Community Relations Award, and Best Team Website Award. "Everyone from the players, to the coaches, to the office staff have worked hard to make this season a success and it shows," commented Joe Morgado who himself has been nominated for Executive of the Year.
Coach Jon Lyles is in the running for Coach of the Year while quarterback Julian Reese has been nominated for the Adam Pringle Award which is awarded to the athlete which demonstrates outstanding dedication and service to the community.
Defensive End Kyle Wilson returned for his second season with Amarillo and this year he has been nominated for IFL's Most Improved from one season to the next.
Defensive back Cashmin Thomas excelled in his first season as he is ranked number two in interceptions (eight total) and has been nominated for IFL Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Running back DonTrell Moore is ranked fifth in rushing touchdowns with 17 as he has been nominated for Offensive Rookie of the Year.
The Venom hold the number two seed and with home field advantage they will take on the West Texas Roughnecks Monday, June 28th at 7:05PM in the Amarillo Civic Center to gain a second playoff tilt.
