
Vena signs with AFL Georgia Force

ALBANY, N.Y. - Albany Conquest head coach Pete Costanza announced today quarterback Ryan Vena has signed a contract for the 2007 season with the Georgia Force of the Arena Football League.
Vena, 28, set a new single-season af2 passing record with 4,520 yards to reclaim a mark he set in 2003. He also led the league with 4,757 yards of total offense, 282.5 passing yards per game and 25 rushing touchdowns in an af2-high 657 plays. Vena ranked third in the league in completions (362), fifth in total touchdowns (97), sixth in rushing yards (237) and eighth in completion percentage (62.2%).
The Colgate University product ranks in the top 10 in af2 history in the following categories: pass attempts (1,527/eighth), completions (983/seventh), touchdown passes (213/ninth), rushing attempts (212/third), rushing yards (652/sixth) and rushing touchdowns (56/second).
"We're really happy for Ryan and his ability to move back up," Costanza said. "We wish him the best of luck with the Georgia Force."
