Vancouver stuns Boise

(Memorial Stadium - Boise, ID) - The Canadians sent 13 batters to the plate in the top of the 7th inning that produced eight runs helping Vancouver stun the Boise Hawks with a 12-11 win out at Memorial Stadium on Thursday night in Boise, ID.

Canadians starter RHP Eric Brown was tagged for five runs in the bottom of the 1st inning which included a three-run home run off the bat of Boise 1B Rock Shoulders that gave the Hawks a 5-1 lead.

Vancouver would claw back to make it a 6-4 game heading into the bottom of the 6th inning when manager Clayton McCullough would debut Toronto Blue Jays 1st Round Draft Pick RHP Marcus Stroman who ran into trouble in his lone inning allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits and a walk over his 2/3 of an inning that helped the Hawks to a commanding 10-4 lead.

The Canadians would explode just minutes later sending 13 hitters to the plate in the top of the 7th producing eight (8) runs including a bases clearing triple from CF Matt Newman that gave Vancouver a 12-10 lead.

Boise would cut the lead to a lone run in the bottom of the 7th inning, but the Canadians would summon RHP Drew Permison who slammed the door on rallies in both the bottom of the 8th and 9th inning for his 5th save of the summer preserving the 12-11 final.
