Vancouver Islander to Start Home Opener for HarbourCats
June 4, 2015 - West Coast League (WCL)
Victoria HabourCats News Release
The Victoria HarbourCats, under new head coach Graig Merritt and Pitching Coach Alec Adame, have set their starting rotation for the opening weekend.
RHP Alex Rogers of Nanaimo, an all-star for the HarbourCats last season, will get the ball in Game 1. Rogers recently completed a successful season at Trinidad State.
The gates open at 5pm, with first pitch at 6:35pm. The game will feature Victoria Skydivers to start, and Fireworks after the final out. Seats are going fast in the "Drive for 5000" season opening promotion.
Another returning pitcher, RHP Mikey Wright, will start the second game -- Saturday's night game (another Fireworks Game).
On Sunday, right-hander Shawn Kennedy II from Georgetown (NAIA) will get the ball.
