Vancouver Falls to Top Team in NLL

Vancouver, BC (Friday, April 10, 2015) - The Vancouver Stealth dropped a 14-7 contest to the Toronto Rock on Friday night at the Air Canada Centre.
Rhys Duch and Corey Small led Vancouver with three points apiece while Tyler Digby and Logan Schuss each scored two points.
Brett Hickey scored a career-high 11 points (7g, 4a) for the Rock while Kevin Crowley, Josh Sanderson and Kevin Ross chipped in with 6 points each.
The Stealth led 3-2 after the first quarter thanks to goals from Digby, Small and Cliff Smith. The Rock would counter in the second quarter as they outscored Vancouver 6-1 to go into halftime with an 8-4 lead. Toronto would continue their strong play in the second half, holding the high-powered Stealth offense to three goals in the final 30 minutes.
Ilija Gajic and Digby scored in the third quarter for Vancouver who trailed 11-6 after the third. Eric Penney started in net for Vancouver, stopping 31 shots. He was replaced by rookie Cody Hagedorn in the fourth quarter, who made in his NLL debut.
Vancouver's usually solid power play struggled, going 2-6 on the man advantage with goals coming from Digby and Joel McCready.
The Stealth will have tomorrow to recover as they head to Connecticut for a Sunday morning matchup against the New England Black Wolves. Game time is at 10:00AM PST at the Mohegan Sun Casino. The game can be seen on TSN.ca or NLL Live . Vancouver returns home next Saturday when they host the Rochester Knighthawks on April 18 at 7:00PM PST at the Langley Events Centre.
