Valor open 2018 home schedule this Friday at Capital One Arena

The Valor open their 2018 home schedule this Friday, May 11 at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena, taking on the Albany Empire for the second-straight week. The Valor will lean on the production of veteran wide receiver Rod Windsor, who won Offensive Player of the Game in Week 4 and ranks second in the AFL with 2.3 receiving touchdowns per game.

Pregame and postgame festivities

Valor fans are encouraged to arrive early for "Valor Hour," which features $4 beers from 6-7 p.m. at select concession locations around the arena concourse. Additionally, Valor fans can receive half-price appetizers at the Greene Turtle on F Street when they show their Valor ticket from 5-6 p.m. The Capital One Arena Greene Turtle will be the team's official pregame happy hour location this season. Upon entering the arena, all Valor fans will receive a free schedule magnet. Lastly, attendees are encouraged to stick around after the game for the on-field postgame party. All fans are welcomed to join the team on the field for autographs, photos and other activities.

Washington falls to Albany in teams' first-ever meeting

The Valor were defeated, 47-23, by the Albany Empire on Saturday night at Times Union Center in the first-ever meeting between the two franchises. Valor wide receiver Rod Windsor was named Offensive Player of the Game for his nine-catch, 79-yard and two-touchdown performance.
