VALLEYDAWGS SWEEP ADIRONDACK IN WEEKEND SERIES: After a week off, the ValleyDawgs responded with back-to-back wins over the Adirondack Wildcats in a home-and-home series this past weekend. On Saturday, the ‘Dawgs used a 32-21 1st quarter advantage to jump out to an early lead. Marcus Hill led PA to the 106-101 victory with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 steals. 2001 USBL Post-Season CO-MVP Frantz Pierre-Louis returned to PA in the game, scoring 10 points and grabbing 6 rebounds off the bench. Less than 24 hours later, the two teams traveled to upstate NY for the 2nd game of the home-and-home series. The ‘Dawgs dominated early and led 56-37 at the half. The 2nd half was a defensive struggle but Pennsylvania held onto the 81-74 win. Lou White led the way with 13 points.

‘DAWGS FIRST TEAM IN USBL TO 10 WINS: the ValleyDawgs became the first team in the USBL to reach 10 wins on the season. At 10-3, PA is currently tied for the top record in the USBL with the Kansas Cagerz. Kansas defeated Cedar Rapids 107-104 on Monday evening. What is most impressive about the ValleyDawgs' start is that they have played just 4 games at home while 9 of their games have come on the road.

ROAD SCHEDULE NOT A PROBLEM FOR PA: Pennsylvania is the only team in the USBL with a winning record away from home. Not only are the ‘Dawgs above .500 away from Liberty High School, they are well above it. PA is 6-3 on the road this year.

‘DAWGS SET TO OPEN UP A 4-GAME HOMESTAND: After playing 9 of its first 13 games on the road, PA opens up a 4-game homestand tonight against Brooklyn. On Wednesday, the ValleyDawgs will battle Adirondack for the third time in four games. On Saturday, it's a battle of Division leaders as the Midwest's Kansas Cagerz roll into town. And on Wednesday May 26th the ‘Dawgs take on the expansion Cedar Rapids River Raiders for the first time. The ValleyDawgs are undefeated (4-0) at their new home at Liberty High School's Memorial Gym.

HILL OUT FOR THE YEAR AND FLEMING DAY TO DAY: Saturday's Home Depot Player of the Game Marcus Hill (6'5" Tulsa) is out for the season after injuring his right hand Sunday while trying to reach for a loose ball. His hand was caught in a collision with Adirondack's Marshall Phillips. Hill is scheduled to have surgery on Wednesday. Leading scorer Marcus Fleming (6'8" Alcorn State) will sit out Tuesday's game with a day-to-day elbow injury. Fleming and Hill join Joe Crispin, Quincy Wadley, Carlos Wheeler, and Paul Alverez on the injured list. John Thomas (6'0" St. Francis) and Kenya Carruthers (6'7" Kansas Wesleyan) have been added to the roster. Carruthers, a rookie, averaged 19.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game in his senior season.

PENNSYLVANIA SNATCHES ANOTHER WILDCAT: John Thomas (6'0" St. Francis) joins Frantz Pierre-Louis as the 2nd former Adirondack Wildcat to sign with the ‘Dawgs this week. Many ValleyDawg fans will remember Thomas as the player who constantly gave Pennsylvania trouble over the past two years while a member of Adirondack. Now in his 6th playing in the USBL, Thomas brings experience to the ValleyDawgs backcourt. Last season, he averaged 12.7 points per game while dishing out nearly four assists per contest. Thomas just returned from playing in the German Professional League with the Giessen 46ers.

TOP KINGS:
Mike Campbell (6'6" Long Island) is 3rd in the USBL in scoring, averaging 23.2 PPG. He also averages 5.8 RPG and is 9th in the USBL in steals per game with just over 2 SPG. Against PA, Campbell is averaging 28 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 2 SPG, and 3 APG.

BJ McFarlan (6'7" St. Thomas Aquinas) is 3rd in the USBL in rebounding, pulling down 9.9 RPG. He gets the job done best on the offensive glass, leading the league in offensive rebounds with 4.8 per game. On May 10, he pulled down a league season high 22 rebounds against Westchester. McFarlan also averages 15.5 PPG on the season.

Chudney Gray (6'2" St. Johns) is 15th in the USBL in scoring (17 PPG), 7th in assists (4.7 APG), and 3rd in steals (2.5 SPG). In his only game against PA this year, Gray was 0-6 from the field, scoring 0 points in 17 minutes.

BROOKLYN SECOND IN THE EAST: The Kings are coming off a 95-89 home victory last night against Adirondack. Antawn Dobie scored 20 points and BJ McFarlan had 14 rebounds in the win. Brooklyn (8-5) is now 2nd in the East two games back of first place Pennsylvania.

SEASON SERIES: The ‘Dawgs are 1-1 against Brooklyn this year. One of its three losses came on the road to the Kings on May 1. The ‘Dawgs led the game 86-80 after 3 quarters, but Brooklyn outscored PA by 9 points in the 4th quarter to win it 110-107. Mike Campbell led the way for the Kings with 25 points and 9 rebounds.
