Tri-City ValleyCats News Release

TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats and Florence Y'alls met in Florence, Kentucky on Saturday night in the rubber match of the team's only meeting in the 2022 season. The series finale proved to be a rain-soaked, back-and-forth affair.

After jumping out to a 4-run lead on an RBI double by Jesus Lujano, a Denis Phipps RBI single, a Dennicher Carrasco sacrifice fly, and an RBI double off of the bat of Brantley Bell. Florence would respond with nine unanswered runs before Denis Phipps got the 'Cats back on the board with a 3-run blast to left center field to bring the 'Cats within two.

Following a 5-run top of the sixth, the 'Cats had taken the lead. That would not be all from the Y'alls, who would score 3 more unanswered to retake the lead. The 'Cats entered the top of the ninth trailing by one. After a leadoff double by right fielder Willy Garcia, Juan Silverio stepped into the box and delivered a clutch 2-run home run to right center field to take the lead once again, a lead they would not surrender.
