
Valkyries Put on a Show in Inaugural Match

Orlando Valkyries News Release
In their home opener, the Orlando Valkyries (0-1) were defeated by the Atlanta Vibe (2-0), at Addition Financial Arena on Friday night in front of 5,284 fans. Orlando started off strong, taking the match's first set, however, Atlanta managed to win sets two, three, and five.
Set 1
The Valkyries opened their inaugural match with an ace by M'Kaela White and scored the first two points of the initial set. Orlando led by as many as eight points, and held on to take the first set, 25-20. Adora Anae led the Valkyries in the opening set win with six points.
Set 2
The second set was back and forth at the beginning before the Vibe pulled ahead by as many as six points. The Valkyries came back, and the set was knotted at 25 a piece before the Vibe took the last two points to even the match.
Set 3
The third set was closely contested, with numerous lead changes. For the second set in a row, The Valkyries came back to tie it at 25, but the Vibe took the last two points of the set to go up 2-1.
Set 4
In the fourth set, the Valkyries took the largest lead of the match by 10 (17-7). The Valkyries continued to dominate and tied the match at two, closing out the set 25-16.
Set 5
The Vibe took an early three-point advantage in the fifth set. The two teams traded points and the Valkyries were able to tie it at 6-6. The Vibe scored the final two points, ending the match with an ace.
The Valkyries are back in action on Saturday, February 10, against the Vegas Thrill at 4 p.m. at the Addition Financial Arena.
