Valentine's Day On Ice This Saturday

ALL-STAR RECAP: The East Division defeated the West Division 4-1 in last Wednesday's USHL Prospects/All-Star Game in Sioux Falls, SD. Brett Bennett was a perfect 21 of 21in saves in just under 30 minutes in net for the East squad, while Mike Cichy notched an assist on the lone West goal. Joe Hartman, Shane Berschbach, Stanislav Galiev and Brandon Richardson also saw action in the contest.

SHOT DOCTORS: After posting 40 shots or more in only one of their first 35 games this season, the Ice has pumped out 40-plus shots in three of their last four contests. The team also set their period high (20) and game high (43) for shots this season in Friday's 8-4 win over Sioux City.

LIFE IS A HIGHWAY: Eight of the Ice's ten games in the month of February are on the road where Indy has been enjoying their most success of late. With an 8-4 win over Sioux City and a 7-3 victory at Des Moines this past weekend, the Ice has rattled off wins in four consecutive road games and is now 9-5-2 away from their home confines this year. Their four-game road winning streak is also one win shy of the USHL high mark for this season of five straight road victories set in January by Green Bay.

HOCKEY COOK-OFF: Max Cook registered his team-leading fourth multiple goal game with a pair of markers in Saturday's 7-3 win at Des Moines. For the weekend, Cook (3G, A), Mike Cichy (2G, 2A) and Joe Hartman (4A) led a high-powered Ice attack that pumped out 15 goals in two road wins.

PLAYER MUSIC: Mike Cichy has averaged two points a game (8G, 10A) in his nine games with the Ice....Joe Hartman is third among USHL d-men in assists (20)....Brett Bennett leads the league in wins (23)...Brent Gwidt had three points (2G, A) on the weekend...Jason Bourgea is riding a three-game point streak...Grant Blakey scored twice in Friday's win at Sioux City...Loren Barron and Luke McManus had two-assist nights at Sioux City and at Des Moines respectively...Stanislav Galiev has 11 points (4G, 7A) in his last ten games.

COLLEGE COMMONS: Garrett Roe (2004-07) is second in the nation in scoring (40 pts) and compiled three points (G, 2A) for St. Cloud in a weekend split with Alaska-Anchorage...Alec Richards (2004-05) continued his torrid play in net for Yale with two more wins on the weekend...Scott Darling (2007-08) stopped 26 shots for Maine in a 1-0 shutout of New Hampshire on Saturday...Greg Squires (2006-08) registered three points (G, 2A) for Western Michigan in Saturday's 5-0 win over UNO.
