Utah Snowbears claw to 8-0 with 72-70 win

December 4, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Utah Snowbears News Release

Ike Austin warned his players not to let down after seven straight wins and Assistant Head Coach Byron Boudreaux urged his team to show some character. Clay Tucker and Alex Austin answered the calls, both making plays down the stretch as Utah held off a pesky Ontario Warriors team 72-70 Friday night in Ontario to improve to 8-0.

Tucker, made a key jumper from the wing and 5 free throws in the final minutes to finish with 22 points in the win. He also recorded 9 rebounds to go with his 3 blocks, although none were bigger than his block of Jelani Janisse's desperation shot with 1.3 seconds left to end the game.

Austin scored 13 points and hauled down 12 rebounds, including 2 huge rebounds in the fourth quarter. Austin also had two big assists in the final period that led to baskets for Utah. Harold Areceneaux added 14 points to go along with 6 rebounds for Utah.

Janisse led the Warriors with 19 points, while Keith Bean added 17 for Ontario. Dcean Bryant had 12 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.

The Snowbears return home to welcome former NBA'er David Benoit to the team as they take on Bellevue Thursday and Saturday.
