June 16, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Utah Snowbears News Release

Indianapolis, IN. Joe Newman, ABA Co-Founder, today announced that the professional basketball league has approved the transfer of ownership of the Utah Snowbears to 10-year NBA veteran, Ike Austin. According to Newman, "Ike Austin was a great player and is an outstanding businessman and person. We consider ourselves fortunate to have him as part of the ABA and know that he will do a tremendous job in Utah."

Austin commented, "This is my home and I want to give back to the city that gave me my start. I am looking forward to the upcoming 2004-2005 season. The Utah Snowbears organization and its players will have a commitment to excellence on and off the court. We want to provide great basketball and entertainment at an affordable price."

"In addition," he added, "we are wasting no time in putting out the call for great players. After a successful tryout earlier in June, we're holding a second invitation-only tryout camp from June 30th-July 2nd at Salt Lake Community College. Tape submissions will only be accepted via mail. We're looking for some great players."
