PHILDADELPHIA, Pennsylvania - Utah Royals FC finished off the 2018 NWSL Draft on Thursday after selecting Duke GK EJ Proctor with the 34th overall selection in the fourth round. Proctor joins Alta High School and BYU product DF Taylor Isom, whom Utah selected with the 14th overall pick.

"I knew I would be relieved to go anywhere, but when I got picked by Utah, I got really excited to be on the first team for their first season - it's incredible," Proctor said. "You always think as a little kid that playing pro is never going to happen, but here it is, and I am so excited. I can't wait to see what it's like."

Proctor comes to Royals FC after four seasons at Duke University, where she posted a 50-15-9 record with 35 shutouts and a 0.65 goals against average in 84 appearances, 71 of them in a starting role. That was capped by a stellar senior season that saw her go 21-2-1 with 14 shutouts and a 0.35 goals against average in leading the Blue Devils to the College Cup Semifinals.

"I think EJ's athleticism and ability to distribute are exciting," Head Coach Laura Harvey said. "We are going to put her in an environment where she can thrive."

Utah Royals FC - led by Harvey, General Manager Craig Waibel and Managing Director Stephanie Lee will kick off the inaugural NWSL season in the Spring of 2018, playing home matches at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah.
