SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze is proud to announce the 2011 season schedule. Blaze Head Coach Ron James and his squad will kick off the season at home against the Tampa Bay Storm on Saturday, March 19th at the Maverik Center in West Valley.
The Blaze will play a total of nine home games at the Maverik Center and will spend nine weeks on the road during their 18-week schedule, the longest in AFL history.
"We have a very competitive schedule this year," GM Steve Videtich said. "I'm confident that the team we are putting together this year will be more balanced and dynamic than ever before. We are looking forward to getting this season underway and providing our fans with the highest level of arena football entertainment."

Schedule Highlights:
*Week 2: The Blaze will face-off against the ArenaBowl XXIII runner-up Tampa Bay Storm and Head Coach Tim Marcum, one of the winningiest coaches in AFL history.
*Week 5: The team will hit the road to face the returning division-rival San Jose SaberCats, the first of two match-ups of the year.
*Week 6: ArenaBowl XXIII Champion Spokane Shock will encounter their former Offensive Coordinator Matthew Sauk and QB Erik Meyer for the first time in this divisional exposition.
* Week 15 & 16: The Pittsburg Power and Kansas City Command will visit the Maverik Center to face-off against the Blaze for the first time in franchise history.
The NFL Network will once again broadcast the Friday Night Game of the Week. The broadcast schedule will be released in the upcoming weeks.
