Kissimmee, FL - The USSSA Florida Pride is pleased to announce former Kentucky Wildcat Kelsey Nunley has officially signed with the Pride. The SEC Pitcher of the Year was the 5th overall pick in the 2016 National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) draft.

"I am very thankful for this opportunity and feel very blessed to be a part of the Pride," said Kelsey about joining the Pride.

Kelsey ended her college career as arguably the best player in Kentucky softball history. The Soddy Daisy native excelled on the mound at the University of Kentucky for four seasons setting the school record for most wins in a single season in just her freshman year but she didn't stop there. She finished her sophomore season with a program best 30-11 record and a 1.88 ERA in 282.1 innings pitched. That same year she led her team to the Women's College World Series and won all 10 postseason wins for Kentucky.

She wrapped up her senior season leading the Wildcats in a historical regular season finish in the SEC. The Wildcats finished 2nd in the SEC before they were eliminated in their post season run. Despite the loss, the Wildcats ended the regular season with the highest finish in school history. Individuall, her 1.26 ERA in 31 appearances set a new school record and she ended the regular season with a 20-5 record with seven complete game shutouts.Nunley also became the first Kentucky player to be recognized as the SEC's top pitcher and ended her career as the school's all-time wins leader.

Kelsey will be joining the Pride for practice starting next week and is expected to fill the void left by ace Cat Osterman. With big shoes to fill Kelsey is the first player of the 2016 Pride draft class to officially sign with the Pride.
