Sounders @ Wave United

This Friday's live USL on Fox Sports World A-League match takes place at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin as the Seattle Sounders take on the Milwaukee Wave United. Kickoff is set for 8:00 pm ET.

Seattle Sounders

The Seattle Sounders are coming off of a 3-1 victory against the defending A-League Champion Charleston Battery. The Sounders sit at 6-6-1 for the season and are comfortably in fourth place in the Western Conference, though they are still within striking distance of the first place Portland Timbers.

Forward Welton Melo leads the Sounders with 14 points on seven goals, tied for third in the A-League. Meanwhile goalkeeper Preston Burpo is eighth in the league in goals against average with a 1.049 mark.

Milwaukee Wave United

The Wave United are coming off an incredibly successful week in which they notched three straight wins over Western Conference opponents. Wednesday saw them earn a 2-1 win over Portland while Friday and Saturday brought back-to-back wins over the Minnesota Thunder (1-0 and 2-1).

Defender Chad Dombrowski and midfielder Johnny Torres earned Team of the Week honors and goalkeeper Jim Larkin allowed just two goals in the three-game stretch. Torres leads the Wave United with 11 points on four goals and three assists.

History

The two teams have met twice already this season, with the Sounders taking both matches by an identical 2-1 score. Milwaukee needs wins at this point in the season if they hope to make the playoffs, while the Sounders will be protecting their six-point cushion. Check out the action on Fox Sports World Friday at 8:00pm ET.
