USL-2 Semifinal Schedule Set
August 14, 2006 - United Soccer League Championship (USL) News Release
United Soccer Leagues announced Monday the schedule for the USL Second Division Semifinals. Regular season champion Richmond will meet Cincinnati while defending champion Charlotte takes on Pittsburgh in two-leg, aggregate score series. Both begin Friday night.
The Eagles begin defense of their title in earnest Friday evening at Pittsburgh at 7:05 pm with the return leg in Charlotte the following night in Charlotte at 7:00 pm.
The Kickers, finalists in the USL First Division a year ago, begin their quest for their first championship since taking the PDL title in 1995 when they host the Kings Friday night at 7:00 pm. The series closes in Cincinnati Sunday at 5:00 pm.
The two series winners will square off the following weekend in the USL Second Division Championship match, which will be broadcast on Fox Soccer Channel.
