US Open Cup Pairings Announced

CHICAGO - Penn FC will face the winner of NPSL club FC Motown and PDL club New York Red Bulls U23 in the second round of the 2018 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, according to US Soccer's full second-round lineup announcement Tuesday.

Following the matchup between FC Motown and Red Bulls U23 on May 9, in Madison, N.J., Penn FC will play the winner on May 16.

If Penn FC draws FC Motown, kick off on May 16 is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Ranger Stadium at Drew University in Madison, N.J.

If Penn FC draws Red Bulls U23, kick off on May 16 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Red Bull Training Facility in Whippany, N.J.

Before it begins its run in the US Open Cup, Penn FC will face Charleston Battery in Penn FC's inaugural season home opener at FNB Field, Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. Fans are encouraged to purchase their season tickets early at pennfc.com/tickets.

About the Open Cup: The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, recognized as U.S. Soccer's National Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. The tournament has crowned a champion for 104 consecutive years dating from 1914. In 1999, the competition was renamed to honor American soccer pioneer Lamar Hunt.
