El Paso, TX - The Charlotte Eagles of the USL Second Division will face the El Paso Patriots of the USL Premier Development League (PDL) tonight in El Paso. Game time is set for 9:30 pm EST. Charlotte received a bye in the first round to make it to tonight's second round match. El Paso defeated the Orange County Blue Star 3-1 to advance. Tonight's match between the Eagles and Patriots will be webcast live on TeamLine. Live scores from the match will also be posted at www.usopencup.com.
The U.S. Open Cup, which is recognized as the U.S. Soccer Federation's National Championship, is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams affiliated with U.S. Soccer. The winner of tonight's game between Charlotte and El Paso will face CD Chevas USA of Major League Soccer (MLS). If Charlotte defeats El Paso then the Eagles will host CD Chevas USA on Wednesday, July 13th at Davidson College, 7:30 pm EST. Results of tonight's match will be posted on the Eagles website following the game.
