Univision, ESPN, TSN, and TVA Sports Announced as Long-Term Broadcast Partners for Campeones Cup

NEW YORK CITY AND MEXICO CITY - As part of the historic collaboration announced in March of 2018 between Major League Soccer (MLS) and Liga MX, the leading sports networks in the United States and Canada - Univision, ESPN, TSN, and TVA Sports - entered into long-term broadcast partnerships with the top soccer leagues in North America, and will kick off their participation with the inaugural edition of the clash of champions, Campeones Cup, this Wednesday, September 19.

Univision and ESPN will be the official broadcast partners for Campeones Cup in the United States, while TSN and TVA Sports will broadcast the new competition in Canada in English and French, respectively, allowing the historic event to reach millions of viewers. The inaugural edition, this Wednesday, between MLS Cup champion Toronto FC and Liga MX winner Tigres UANL, will square off live from BMO Field in Toronto on Univision and UDN as well as ESPN2. The game will air in Canada on TSN1 and TVA Sports 2. Coverage will begin at 8:00 p.m. ET on Univision and UDN, and 8:30 p.m. on all other networks.

The massive reach of all four networks means that soccer fans and sports enthusiasts alike will be able to enjoy the thrilling, historic match between the champions of the two top North American leagues. The yearly clash will see the best players from MLS and Liga MX facing off in a winner-takes-all game.

The partnership between MLS and Liga MX will include a sharing of best business practices and a collaboration around social responsibility efforts to drive positive social change, as well as additional competitions and tentpole events including commitment for a future MLS All-Star Game featuring the two leagues.
