United Indoor Football Week 12 Preview

Omaha, NE - Week 12 is in our sights. Five games over three time zones should make for an interesting weekend. Like week 11, all games are important conference clashes.

OMAHA (4-6) vs. BILLINGS (4-4)

At Billings, MT

The Billings Outlaws begin a three-game homestand at MetraPark Arena on Saturday with 7 p.m. Mountain kickoff against the Omaha Beef. The Outlaws, returning home for the first time in nearly a month, upped their winning streak to four straight last Saturday with a 73-30 victory over the Sioux City Bandits. Billings was led in the victory by K Ha'a Bento, QB Chris Dixon, and their defense. Bento, who went a perfect 10-10 on extra points and also kicked a 30-yard field goal, earned Special Teams Player of the Week for his efforts. Dixon completed 14 of 17 passes for 123 yards and seven touchdowns; he also rushed for 48 yards on the way to receiving Offensive Player of the Week honors. The Outlaws' defense intercepted five passes, broke up four more, and tallied a sack. Omaha is coming off a bye week. In their last game on May 26, the Beef fell to the Outlaws 41-34 at Omaha Civic Auditorium. Leading the way for Omaha were LB Chris Eads and QB James McNear. Eads led the defense with six tackles. McNear, on the other hand, passed for 139 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 50 yards and another score.

SIOUX CITY (3-7) vs. SIOUX FALLS (9-0)

At Sioux Falls, SD

The Sioux Falls Storm return home to the Sioux Falls Arena to face the Sioux City Bandits Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Sioux Falls defeated the Colorado Ice 51-17 last Saturday at the Budweiser Events Center. Leading the way for the Storm were LB Mark Blackburn and QB Terrance Bryant. Blackburn made 10 tackles (one TFL) and also had a sack, an interception and a pass break up. Bryant completed 14 of 22 passes for 207 yards and five touchdowns (three to James Terry and two to Marques Smith). Sioux City will be playing their first game with Tom Luxford and Pat Arens at the helm. The two will finish out the season after Roger Jansen's resignation Tuesday. Last Saturday, the Bandits fell to the Billings Outlaws 73-30 at home. DB Alex Ardley and RB Andre Raymond led the way for Sioux City. Ardley made three tackles and tallied 209 yards of kickoff returns. Raymond rushed for two touchdowns and also caught eight passes for 68 yards.

BLOOMINGTON (5-4) vs. LEXINGTON (5-5)

At Lexington, KY

The Lexington Horsemen complete a two-game homestand at Rupp Arena by hosting the Bloomington Extreme at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Saturday. Lexington is coming off a 38-31 loss to the RiverCity Rage last Saturday. Leading the way for the Horsemen were QB/WR Harry Lewis and DL Ellery Moore. Lewis, normally a wide receiver, went 10-21 for 92 yards and a touchdown; he also rushed for 62 yards and caught two passes for 11 yards. Moore tallied 9.5 tackles (1.5 TFL), blocked a kick and also recorded ½ a sack. The Extreme saw their five-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of the Evansville BlueCats as Evansville won 58-46. Leading the way for Bloomington were QB Dusty Burk and DB Mike Crumpler. Burk completed 24 of 37 passes for 261 yards and six touchdowns (to three different receivers) as Crumpler made 11 tackles.

ROCK RIVER (6-4) vs. EVANSVILLE (3-6)

At Evansville, IN

The Evansville BlueCats will have the first of two in a row at Roberts Stadium when they face off against the Rock River Raptors Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Central. Evansville is coming off a big win last Saturday in Bloomington, IL as they defeated the Bloomington Extreme 58-46. Leading the way were S AJ Bryant and RB Odest Shannon. Bryant, who made 8.5 tackles and had a team-record three interceptions, earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts. Shannon was Mr. Everything for the BlueCats in the victory as he rushed for six yards, caught five passes for 83 yards and three touchdowns and also returned nine kickoffs for 144 yards. The Rock River Raptors went into Wheeling, WV and defeated the Ohio Valley Greyhounds by one, 56-55. Leading the way were DB Blue Aldridge and QB Ben Sankey. Aldridge made 8.5 tackles and also broke up a pass. Sankey had a hand in seven of the Raptors' eight touchdowns, rushing for one and passing for six (to three different receivers). He had 259 yards of total offense (33-rush, 226-passing) to keep his stranglehold on that category.

OHIO VALLEY (2-7) vs. RIVERCITY (6-4)

At St. Charles, MO

The RiverCity Rage return home to Family Arena for the first time in over a month to face the Ohio Valley Greyhounds Saturday at 7:15 p.m. Central. RiverCity is coming off an 38-31 win over the Lexington Horsemen at Rupp Arena. Leading the way were LB Joe Bevis and QB Anthony Fisher. Bevis made 7.5 tackles (2.5 TFL), forced a fumble, and also scored two rushing touchdowns. Fisher went 13-20 for 163 yards with two touchdowns (one-rush and one-pass). Ohio Valley fell last Saturday to the Rock River Raptors 56-55. Leading the way for the Greyhounds were DE Jeff Candler and QB Oscar Davenport. Candler made 10.5 tackles (5.5 TFL) and tallied three sacks. Davenport went 20-30 for 223 yards and four touchdowns (to three different receivers).
