Jersey Express News Release
East Orange, N.J. (Monday, December 1, 2009) - With a record of 2-0 to start the young American Basketball Association season, the Jersey Express face the New York Red Riders this Saturday night at East Orange Campus High School at 7:00 p.m. As part of the fan-friendly entertainment of an Express home game, musical entertainer Te'Neil Nicole will be performing during halftime.
"Our goal is to provide entertaining basketball for the entire family to enjoy at an affordable price," Express President Marsha Blount stated. "With that goal in mind, we've added an entertainment division headed by Dwayne 'Baritone' Francis."
Blount was quick to acknowledge the hard work of Francis, who is the team's new Director of Marketing and Sponsorships. Since taking over the position, he has been booking entertainment for the Express home games through his internet-based company, BuzzThis.net.
"Dwayne has already booked artists from record labels that either have projects out or are coming out soon," Blount continued. "His relationship within the music industry will allow us to provide an element with pregame and halftime performances, all included in one price of admission."
Tickets for all Express home games are $10, and season ticket packages are still available through the team website at www.JerseyExpress.net. Also, businesses and organizations interested in sponsorship opportunities with the Express can contact the team at info@jerseyexpress.net.
The Jersey Express is a member of the American Basketball Association and is currently preparing for their fifth season in the ABA. Quaasim Austin is the head coach of the Express with Casaundra Smith serving as his assistant coach, and the team will play their home schedule this year at East Orange Campus High School. The Express made the playoffs in each of their past two seasons and reached the ABA Elite Eight last year in Nashville, Tennessee.
