
UIF Week Six Summary

Omaha, NE - Week six goes in the books with a freezing in Colorado, a carving in Omaha, a teeter totter in Rockford, IL, and shootouts from Wheeling, WV to Billings, MT.
COLORADO ICE (31) over RIVERCITY RAGE (6)
The Colorado Ice became the first team to defeat the Rage Saturday, as they were led by Eugene Reed who had two touchdown runs of seven and three yards respectively. Colorado's rushing punch of Reed and Ryan Drinkwater were the major runners in Colorado's 157 net rushing yards, 19 more yards than the Rage had in total offense. Travis Garcia and Corey Johnson both had interceptions for the Ice. The only points for the Rage came with 14:01 left in the fourth quarter when Anthony Fisher connected with Hurtis Chinn. With the win, the Ice are now on a three game win streak, are (3-0) at home and look to make it (4-0) Saturday as they host (5-0) Sioux Falls. The Rage will be back at home hosting the (2-3) Bloomington Extreme.
LEXINGTON HORSEMEN (35) over ROCK RIVER RAPTORS (31)
Defense was big the first quarter as neither team was able to score. In the second, Rayshawn Askew put the first points on the board with a one-yard run for the Horsemen, but Phil Kuhl couldn't convert the PTA. A trade of touchdowns would then start with the Raptors' Patrick Hall II rushing in from one yard, followed by Lexington's Kewan Drewberry connecting with John Cooper, Rock River's Ben Sankey connecting with Luke McArdle, Drewberry hitting Chad Spencer and Doug Daniel converting a 50-yard field goal. At the end of the third, the score was Horsemen 21, Raptors 17. In the fourth, Sankey would run in from one yard and then connect with Lawrence Bady for his second TD pass, as the Raptors went up 31-28 with :28 left. Drewberry then connected with Cooper for his fourth TD pass and the pair's second. The Horsemen have a bye this week and the Raptors will host (1-4) Ohio Valley.
BILLINGS OUTLAWS (50) over SIOUX CITY BANDITS (35)
The performance people were waiting for happened, as everything clicked for the Outlaws. The Outlaws got on top 16-14 in the second quarter after Chris Dixon connected with Michael Brewster and they never looked back. Dixon went 13-21 for 121 yards with five touchdown passes, Michael Bazemore had 7.5 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and three sacks, while Zach Tune added another sack and a fumble recovery; Travis Salter collected four pass breakups and Ernest James had an interception. For the Bandits, Craig Fobbe finished 13-34 for 157 yards passing and two touchdowns. The Outlaws have a bye in week seven, while the Bandits will host the (3-3) Omaha Beef.
BLOOMINGTON EXTREME (56) over OMAHA BEEF (44)
Coming off a close victory against the Horsemen, the Extreme came to battle in one of the toughest arenas in the UIF, the "Slaughterhouse." The second quarter started with the Extreme on top 14-13, but that's when everything opened up. The Beef's Dustin Creager returned a 24-yard putting Omaha in front 20-14 after the made PAT. Bloomington's Dusty Burk then answered for the Extreme with a one-yard touchdown run. Covell Crosby put the Beef back on top by seven but the Extreme answered with three straight touchdowns, including Evan Triggs returning a blocked field goal. With the Extreme on top 40-27 heading into the third, the Beef would need some help. Lawrence Pullen caught a 26-yard TD pass from James McNear but the Extreme got two TD's and a field goal making the score 56-34 with 13:36 left in the game. Glenn Johnson finished the game for the Extreme with 138 yards on seven receptions with three TD's. Burk had six TD passes for 259 yards and also had one rushing TD. The Extreme will visit (5-1) RiverCity, while the Beef look to end a three game losing streak when they face (1-4) Sioux City.
EVANSVILLE BLUECATS (51) over OHIO VALLEY GREYHOUNDS (45)
The BlueCats have beaten the Greyhounds twice in the 2007 regular season as Haven Mosley brought the BlueCats out strong, distributing the ball to five different receivers including four touchdowns and also running in a TD of his own. When the teams met back on March 31, the BlueCats won 47-24. Mosley ended Saturday's game 18-25 for 259 passing yards and four TD's. The BlueCats were also helped by third-down conversions, as they went 7-10 compared to the 2-10 that Greyhounds converted. Ray Kirkley finished the night with 45 yards on 16 carries with and two TD's. Ohio Valley's Freddy Ray went 16-34 for 208 passing yards and three TD's. Kirkley and the BlueCats will have a bye this week and the Greyhounds will travel to (2-3) Rock River.
