
UIF Week Eight Preview

Omaha, NE - Week eight features five games on three different days and a possible record-tying day. In a game many will be tracking closely, bitter rivals will collide in Sioux Falls, SD, as the Sioux Falls Storm host the Sioux City Bandits. With a win, the Storm would tie the Ohio Valley Greyhounds for all-time consecutive victories in professional football at any level at 27.
COLORADO ICE (4-3) at BILLINGS OUTLAWS (1-4)
During week one, the Ice defeated the Outlaws 26-25 in a game that was won by a field goal by Deric Yaussi with 1:09 remaining. In order to beat the Outlaws, the Ice can't allow eight sacks, 35 unanswered points and miss three field goals as they did against Sioux Falls last week. Anthony Candler is Chris Dixon's "go to guy" with 19 receptions this season. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. MT, Friday at MetraPark Arena in Billings, MT.
RIVERCITY RAGE (5-2) at OHIO VALLEY GREYHOUNDS (1-5)
After winning the first five games of the season, the Rage have now lost two straight including their first ever loss in franchise history at Family Arena in St. Charles, and will meet the Greyhounds for the first time in the UIF. Last week, the Bloomington Extreme held the Rage to only 139 yards total offense. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET, Saturday at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, WV.
SIOUX CITY BANDITS (2-4) at SIOUX FALLS STORM (6-0)
Terrance Bryant will lead the Storm against the Bandits who won a big game against Omaha last week. When the Storm and Bandits met on April 6, the Storm scored 14 unanswered points to start the game, with four of the points coming from safeties. The Bandits' Marcus Smith, Special Teams Player of the Week in week seven, had a solid performance with 53 return yards off missed fields goals and 75 yards on kickoff returns. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. CT, Saturday at the Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls, SD.
ROCK RIVER RAPTORS (3-3) at LEXINGTON HORSEMEN (4-2)
UIF Offensive Player of the Week for week seven, Rock River's Ben Sankey looks to improve on his league leading 255.2 yards passing per game, 1,561 total yards and 25 passing touchdowns. On April 28, the Horsemen defeated the Raptors 35-31. In that game, Kewan Dewberry went 17-26 with no interceptions and four TD passes for the Horsemen. With the Horsemen playing at home it will provide good surroundings, as they are 2-0 this season at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, Saturday.
EVANSVILLE BLUECATS (2-4) at OMAHA BEEF (3-4)
In another first time match-up this season, Haven Mosley and Ray Kirkley lead the BlueCats into Nebraska against James McNear, R.J. Rollins and the Beef. The Beef come into this one on a four-game losing streak after falling last week to the Bandits, with two of the losses being home games. Sunday's kickoff at the Omaha Civic Auditorium is set for 3:30 p.m. CT.
