UIF Week 4 Preview

Omaha, NE - Welcome to week four of the United Indoor Football season. Three games will be played this weekend. Tonight calls for a forecast of "Extreme Ice" in Bloomington and will also bring the second straight showdown between the Outlaws and the Bandits. On Saturday, the Storm head down I-29 to face the Beef.

COLORADO (0-2) vs. BLOOMINGTON (1-2)

At Bloomington, IL

Friday, 7:05 p.m. Central

The Bloomington Extreme welcome the Colorado Ice to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum for a Friday night fight. The UIF's true expansion teams will meet for only the second time in history as they met last season on June 23rd. The Extreme earned their first win of the season last Saturday, defeating the Wichita Wild 59-38 at home. Bloomington was led by WR James Walton and a solid defensive effort. Walton caught a team-high nine passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns. For his efforts, he was named UIF Offensive Player of the Week. The Ice are coming off a bye week. In their last action, they fell to the Sioux Falls Storm 48-24 on St. Patrick's Day night at the Sioux Falls Arena. Colorado was led by DB Travis Garcia and WR George Hill in the loss. Garcia made six solo tackles and assisted on eight more for a total of 10, which was a team-high for the night. Hill caught three passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. Additionally, he returned four kicks for 102 yards with a long of 48.

BILLINGS (3-0) vs. SIOUX CITY (1-1)

At Sioux City, IA

Friday, 7:05 p.m. Central

The Sioux City Bandits host the Billings Outlaws Friday evening at the Tyson Events Center. The teams will be meeting for the second time in two weeks. Last weekend, in Billings, the Outlaws came out on the winning end, defeating the Bandits 72-38. Billings was led by QB Chris Dixon and DB Travonti Johnson in the win. Dixon completed 19 of 26 passes for 264 yards and six touchdowns. Johnson contributed 3.5 tackles, three interceptions (one of which he returned 39 yards for a touchdown) and three pass break ups. For Sioux City, QB Chad Kapanui and LB Spetlar Tonga led the way. Tonga had 4.5 tackles (two TFL), ½ a sack, a pass break up and also blocked a kick.

SIOUX FALLS (2-0) vs. OMAHA (1-2)

At Omaha, NE

Saturday, 7 p.m. Central

The Omaha Beef will face off against one of their I-29 rivals, the Sioux Falls Storm, on Saturday evening at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The match-up will be the only one between the squads this season. The Beef fell last Saturday to the RiverCity Rage 36-18 at the Family Arena. Omaha was led by DL Colin Bryant and QB James McNear. Bryant led the defense with 8.5 tackles (2.5 TFL) and a sack. On offense, McNear threw for 65 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 19 yards and another score. Sioux Falls is coming off a bye week. In their last action on March 17th, they defeated the Colorado Ice for their 40th win in-a-row. Leading the way for the Storm were LB Mark Blackburn and QB Terrance Bryant. Blackburn made a team-high 6.5 tackles (three TFL), forced a fumble and even broke up a pass. Bryant, in his first game of the season, completed 16 of 27 passes for 148 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 21 yards and two touchdowns.
